How do I know if my older house still has knob-and-tube?
A panel replacement does not prove that all concealed wiring was replaced. Existing records and an electrical assessment can help identify remaining wiring; two-prong outlets alone do not confirm knob-and-tube. Share photos or records you already have rather than opening electrical equipment to investigate. If knob-and-tube is found, discuss the condition and proposed work with an electrician and ask your insurer about its requirements.

Why does outdoor electrical equipment fail faster near the coast?
Salt exposure and moisture can contribute to corrosion of outdoor equipment. Actual deterioration depends on the product, installation, exposure and maintenance; location alone does not establish a service life.
